To round out the podcast we watched The American President which had the added bonus of not only being a romantic film but also served as our movie for Presidents day, which is also in February.

Matinee Screening: The Road to the White House
This week we take a look at three movies focusing on the intricate aspects of campaigning. First we watch The Candidate from 1972 featuring a young Robert Redford campaigning to be a senator from California. Next we have John Travolta campaigning for the White House as a fictional candidate (who's really Bill Clinton) in the 1996 film Primary Colors. We wrap up the week with Recount the 2008 HBO film that turns the real live events of the 2000 election into a shockingly impressive political thriller.
